Simply incredible! We counted 45 entries in our 5th annual snow sculpture challenge on Saturday, January 29, a new high! A huge thank you to everyone who participated! It was truly inspiring to see all that creativity literally take shape in our neighbourhood.
The Glenelm Snow Sculpture Challenge is a non-competitive, all-ages and abilities event that is designed to get folks outside in the quiet of winter and connecting with neighbours new and old, and it’s safe to say it was a huge success in both regards.
We heard from one first-time participant that she met several neighbours she’d never spoken to before while out sculpting. Folks were out walking and snapping photos all weekend, and many of the sculptures were included in a “Winter Wellness” montage by Mayor Bowman.
And thanks to our generous sponsors, we were able to give out dozens of participation prizes!
