Upcoming Event: Spring Plant/Seed Swap & Fundraising Bake Sale

If you’ve got a green thumb or a sweet tooth, you won’t want to miss GeNA’s upcoming 2-in-1 event on Saturday, May 26th.

Our second seed/plant swap takes place May 26th,2018 at Gordon-King Memorial United Church (127 Cobourg) from 11am to 3pm, and this time we’re adding some new twists.  We will also be including a bake sale and a honey fundraiser to help raise much-needed funds for GeNA so that we can do more within our neighborhood.

  • With the seed/plant swap, at our fall swap we had people come with plants they had started as well as seeds, which went over very well.  So get creative!  Whether it’s seeds, plants you’ve started, slips that are in water developing roots or bulbs, all are welcome.
  • A fundraising bake sale will run at the same time, featuring a wide variety of delicious treats available for purchase. All funds will go to GeNA to suppport the work we do in the neighbourhood. Glenelm’s own John Russell Honey Company will be at the sale as well, and generously donating profits from their sale to GeNA.
  • By popular request, the Northeast Winnipeg History Society will also be in attendance, selling their new book, “North East Winnipeg Area History – Elmwood, East Kildonan, North Kildonan”.

WANT TO HELP? We are looking for bakers who would be willing to contribute some delicious treats for the bake table.  If you’d like to donate some baked goods, please reply to glenelmcommunity@gmail.com by May 19th to be put in touch with our bake sale planning team.
