Upcoming Event: Historical Walking Tour of Glenelm (Jane’s Walk)

GeNA is delighted that the North East Winnipeg Historical Society will be presenting a historical walking tour of Glenelm on Saturday, May 5th as part of 2018 Jane’s Walk activities.
During this tour you will learn about some of the very first homes in Glenelm, interesting and notable residents, and fun facts such as:
  • the price of a 30 foot lot on Carmen Ave in 1910
  • what Glenwood Cres was nicknamed
  • the original names of some streets in our neighbourhood
  • what makes the Harry Lazarenko (Redwood) bridge so noteworthy

Editions of this tour held in previous years have been met with rave reviews! We welcome all those interested in the history of Glenelm to join us for this fascinating walking tour.

We will meet at the corner of Glenwood Cres and Harbison Ave at 1pm, Saturday, May 5th, 2018. The tour will last approximately 90 mins and include opportunities for Q&A and sharing. NEWHS will also have copies of their book on hand for sale for $20.
