Introducing a brand new GeNA event… the first-ever Glenelm Pumpkin Parade!!
On Friday, November 1, bring your jack o’lantern to the Big Red Church (127 Cobourg) between 5 and 8pm.
We will display all the jack o’lanterns so that they can be admired and enjoy hot chocolate and a bonfire. There will also be a fabulous fall-themed photo booth plus a draw for cool prizes. And it’s all free!
Here are a couple of things we’re asking for your help with:
- Please save your pumpkin seeds! Rinse the guts off them if you can, and email Mellanie at heysunshine23@gmail.com to arrange pickup. The seeds will be dehydrated and donated on behalf of the neighbourhood to the Wildlife Haven Rehabilitation Centre. You can also stick them in your freezer and arrange pickup after the event.
- GeNA will take care of any jack o’lanterns left at the event: we’ve arranged to donate the spent pumpkins to Aurora Farms to be turned into food for their animals. With that in mind, when you carve up your pumpkins, please don’t dip them in bleach or vinegar.
