Thank you, Glenelm! Our 4th annual neighbourhood-wide cankerworm banding campaign was a success thanks to the participation from hundreds of residents and our formidable “Tree Squad” team of block captains and coordinators.
We managed to band nearly 1,000 trees again. This included complete coverage of boulevard trees on most blocks, and the majority of park trees at Roxy (Elmwood) Park, Hespeler Park and the Talbot Tot Lot.
Big thanks to the Tree Squad for their hundreds of hours of time & energy for this project. Sincere appreciation also goes to the Glenelm School PAC, the Big Red Church, and our city councillor Jason Schreyer for their ongoing commitment to our fall tree banding campaign. And once again, Schmidt Tree Banding was a pleasure to work with!
Special request!! This year, all of Hart Avenue was covered by block captains who live on other streets. If you’re a resident of Hart and would be interested in serving as a block captain next year, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know.
