Kids Film Fest

Attention all film makers and creators. Storytellers and directors. The Glenelm Neighbourhood Association is proud to present to you the Glenelm Kids Film Fest.

The Glenelm Kids Film Fest builds on the ground work laid by community members to give the kids in our neighbourhood an opportunity to flex their creative muscles over their summer break to create, film and edit a short piece to show off to the neighbourhood. Whether through traditional film, animation, stop motion, or whatever other creative method you can think of, we want to support your ability to create and your neighbours see all you can do.

Not a kid or a creator? No problem, we look forward to seeing you on Saturday, September 6th to see the creations starting at 6 PM at the Big Red Church (127 Cobourg) . Have questions or want to sign up? Check out some of our answers below.

How old can a participant be?

The film festival is open to any participants aged 14 and under that live in the Glenelm area.

How long should my video be?

While your excitement and enthusiasm is greatly appreciated, we are asking for all videos to be under 3 minutes in order to make sure the event takes place in a smooth and timely fashion.

What form can my video be?

The sky is the limit! If you are interested in hitting the streets with an iPad and filming, spending time animating on the computer, engaged in stop motion, or any other film method, we’d love to have you!

Any other requirements?

Films are due to be turned in by Sunday, August 31st.

Films should be in landscape orientation at 1920×1080 (preferrable) and exported as a .mov or .mp4. All videos should be submitted via a link (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc) or a direct link to download. Please includ ehte name of the film in the file name (ex. “NinjaPotatosGreatAdventure”).
