The Big Red Church at 127 Cobourg will be buzzing tomorrow morning from 10am to 12pm. Come on down for a fundraising bake sale and mini-market in support of the Glenelm Neighbourhood Association, plus a plant and seed swap to get your garden looking gorgeous.
Bake sale & market:
- Tons of delicious home-baked goods! Cookies (soft ginger, snickerdoodles, chocolate-hazelnut, spicy oatmeal raisin, folk fest, chocolate chip and more!), muffins, cupcakes, nuts & bolts, jelly from local grapes and crabapples, granola bars and much more. Above & below are a few photos of what’s in store!
- PLUS! Not eating sweets? Interested in a more savoury option? You’ll also have a chance to taste some delicious hummus samples in a variety of tasty flavours (see below for more details) – purchases will support GeNA.
- John Russell Honey Company will be back again this year to sell their delicious honey in support of GeNA.
- Hot coffee and tea will be available for purchase so you can sit and enjoy some of your treats and visit with neighbours.
Plant and seed swap:
Everyone is invited to bring seeds, plants, bulbs or cuttings to share or swap with others (if you can bring plants in bags or pots, that’s helpful but not necessary). Or just come to meet and chat with other Glenelm green thumbs!
Hummus Fundraiser
As part of our fundraising efforts, GeNA will be taking pre-orders for Happy Dance Hummus. The cost is $8.00 per container and you can select from the following flavors:
- Chipotle Lime
- Spicy Black Bean
- Curry Marsala
- Creamy Dill
- Garlic Jalapeno
Not sure if you like hummus? Unsure what flavors to buy? Samples will be available at Sweets & Seeds this Saturday (pre-orders will be accepted via cash or e-transfer).
The deadline for ordering will be Tuesday, May 28, 2019; we then anticipate deliveries of hummus to start on Friday, May 31, 2019.
