[CANCELLED] Upcoming Event: 2nd Annual Glenelm Neighbourhood Picnic

Update 4:30pm, Sunday Sept 9th: sadly, the picnic has been cancelled due to rain and the threat of thunderstorms.

By popular request! Let’s put the “neighbour” back in the hood! Come and meet your neighbours old and new at the second annual Glenelm Neighbourhood Picnic.

When:  5:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 9th
Where:  Roxy Park aka Elmwood Park, 380 Henderson Hwy
What:  Bring your own picnic supper, some dessert to share at our potluck dessert table, something to sit on, a desire to get to know others in the neighbourhood! The park bathrooms will be open.

PROGRAM:  

5:00 p.m. Join us for games for all ages or play on the playground  
~ giant Jenga game ~  sidewalk chalk and spray chalk ~ beach ball volleyball ~ kite flying ~ mini golf game ~ stickers and tattoos ~ and more surprises!

5:30-7:00 p.m. Musical entertainment
Tuck into your own picnic supper during live musical performances from some talented Glenelm performers!

6:45-7:30 p.m. Potluck dessert buffet
Bring some cookies, squares, or other easy-to-serve sweets to share on a dessert buffet table – please label with ingredients. Sure to be a scrumptious ending to the event!

Volunteers Needed!!

We’re still looking for a few more volunteers to help out with the following to make this event a success:

  • Helping out at games stations (from about 4:45pm to 5:45pm)
  • Cleaning up after the event (7:30-8pm)

Upcoming Event: Family Movie Night in the Park

The big screen will be coming to Roxy (Elmwood) Park on Saturday, August 25! Come out and enjoy one of the last nights of summer with a FREE family movie shown on a giant 29-foot screen! The movie will begin at sunset, which is around 8:30pm (it’s actually 8:27pm, but that seems much harder to remember).

Subscribers of our Glenelm email newsletter are currently voting on which movie will be shown. The winning title and more details will be available at glenelm.ca/movie. Stay tuned!
